ما هي الأسئلة الذيلية؟
What are question tags?
.هو سؤال قصير يأتي في آخر الجملة قبله فاصلة بهدف التأكد معناه (أليس كذلك؟)، ونقوم بتكوينه باستعمال الأفعال المساعدة
:يكون السؤال الذيلي مثبتا عندما تكون الجملة منفية كما في الأمثلة التالية *
* The question tag is positive if the sentence is negative as shown in the examples below:
- They were not playing chess, were they? --> No, they were not.
- Ali is not a good man, is he? --> No, He is not.
- He doesn't have his research, does he? --> No, He does not.
- She did not go to the party, did she? --> No, she does not.
- It doe not rains in summer, does it? --> No, it doesn't.
:يكون السؤال الذيلي منفيا عندما تكون الجملة مثبتة كما في الأمثلة التالية *
* The question tag is negative if the sentence is positive as shown in the examples below:
- They were playing chess, weren't they? --> Yes, they were.
- Ali is a good man, isn't he? --> Yes, he is.
- He has his research, doesn't he? --> Yes, hes does.
- She went to the party, didn't she? --> Yes, she did.
- It rains in winter, doesn't it? --> Yes, it does.
نلاحظ أن الجواب على الأسئلة الذيلية يكون بنعم أو لا حسب الجملة، فإذا كانت الجملة مثبتة يكون الجواب مثبتا وإذا كانت الجملة منفية يكون الجواب منفيا كذلك
.في حالة وجود أحد الأفعال التالية في الجملة فإننا نستعمله في السؤال الذيلي وفي الجواب عليه ولا نغيره *
am, is, are, was, were, shall, should, will, would, can, could, must, ought , need, dare

- Hassan will be a doctor, won't he? Yes, he will.
- Hassan will not be a doctor, will he? No, he won't.
- You can do the exercise alone, can't you? Yes, I can.
- You can't do the exercise alone, can you? No, I can't.
- You can't do the exercise alone, can you? No, I can't.
إذا
كانت الجملة لا تحتوي على فعل مُساعد وكانت مثبتا فإننا نستخدم don't أو doesn't بالنسبة للمضارع و didn't بالنسبة للماضي.

- Your parents live here, don't they? --> Yes, they do.
- She joined the team today, didn't she? --> Yes, she did
استخدام الأسئلة الذيلية
.نستخدم الأسئلة الذيلية عندما نكون غير متأكدين من شيء ما
- We use Question Tags when we are not sure of something.

- We use Question Tags when we want to be sure of something.

- I am a good teacher, aren't I? --> am I not?
- Let’s go to for a walk, shall we?
